In a time when our country is filled with tension, fighting, and strife, it can sometimes be hard to see moments of beauty that are lying right in front of us. But one artist is trying to change that: He took 150 photos of people from every cross-section of the United States, then showed that they can be arranged into a mosaic of the American flag and also any number of other images. Simply breathtaking. The same men and women who make up the beautiful melting pot we call home also work in perfect harmony to become the beautiful flag of another country, Finland!

After the original mosaic of the American flag was dismantled, the 150 portraits were once again reunited as this pastrami sandwich, proving that we are far more beautiful together than we are alone! Synergy!

This photo of John Wayne Gacy Jr. looks even better when we can put aside our differences and work alongside one another. Now, we can see our nation like we’ve never seen it before!

Absolutely beautiful. While we may not always agree, this image proves that we can still come together to perfectly comprise a random group of diverse, disparate people.
