In this day and age, too many people use race as a guiding point to important decisions. It seems like people are either treating those of different ethnicities like they are lesser beings, or coddling them and giving them preferential treatment. I, on the other hand, don’t have these problems, because I don’t see minorities.
That’s just how I live my life. I treat everyone I meet equally, and I never pay attention to minorities.
You see, when I was younger, I was like everyone else. I wondered about the disparate life experiences of people with a different skin color than mine. I considered judging people’s capabilities based on the color of their skin. But over the past few years, I’ve trained myself to look past minorities. I never, ever think about minorities.
…I’ve trained myself to look past minorities. I never, ever think about minorities.
I’ve been sure to observe this practice in every aspect of my life. Whenever I’m making a decision, whether it’s hiring a new employee or looking for someone to date, I’m always sure to ignore minorities.
To me, that’s the way we should all view our society. We need to realize that it’s time to look past minorities and see each other for who we really are. It doesn’t matter if someone is Chinese or Indian, African-American or Mexican—we should all stop paying attention to minorities.
Because isn’t that what America should be? Free of concepts like “minorities”?
