The presidential election cycle may feel like it happened just yesterday, but White House hopefuls have already begun preparing to challenge Trump in 2020. While Democrats are far off from having a clear front-runner, one big name just made a move that seems to hint he’s at least flirting with the idea: Cory Booker has started wearing a small wig.
We don’t want to jump the gun here, but Sen. Booker might have just set his sights on the Oval Office.
According to Washington insiders, Booker’s tiny brown wig was first seen at a Senate vote earlier this week, when the New Jersey native entered the Capitol wearing a doll-sized, neatly coiffed patch of hair atop his head. After sitting down at his seat, Senator Booker reportedly removed a miniature comb from his breast pocket and began proudly brushing the tiny hairpiece resting on top of his scalp, igniting the blogosphere into a frenzy of speculation about whether he was kicking off a potential run for president in 2020.
Booker, for his part, apparently played coy and refused to answer any questions that addressed his presidential ambitions. After dodging several questions, the senator from New Jersey picked up a miniature top hat, placed it over his even more miniature wig, and quickly exited the Capitol building.
Wow. At this point, who knows? Come 2020, we might just have a President Cory Booker.
Well, we may not be political experts, but in Washington, D.C., you don’t start wearing an extremely small wig without stirring up some chatter about your ambitions. While it’s definitely still too soon to say one way or another, if you hear any rumblings about Booker and his new hair wanting to take on President Trump, it shouldn’t come as a surprise.
